In my affiliate settings, hubpages shows my google adsense as 'association pending' and I don't?

Ohk 1st you need an approved google adsense ID. If you have ID then link the account by giving zip code and last 5 digit of your phone numer with your adsense accoun email ID> You must have to allow hubpage by logging in to your adsense account. If you allow hubpage then it shouldn't be pending.

If still it's not working try again, click modify and then again do the same process. It will be fine.

Oh and I the association appears to be enabled from the adsense site.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
