It was started before King of Random Crap by early members. Proving this would be next to impossible with the new site setup. He just found it to be his favorite category and took it as a personal challenge to become high point earner in it.

It was a helpful category for things that just didn't fit elsewhere. I certainly miss it.

Ah, we should form a club, I guess, hipnek.

Another no vote. What a surprise. Oh, stalker!

You hurt me so deeply.

It WAS the most-used category, because it could cover anything you wanted to talk about.

Yeah, I usually threw it in with my other four category choices... OccupyPhatness 18 months ago .

I think, now that they have the initial bugs worked out, the CATEGORIES are an improvement, because there was a lot of "totally random crap" in the categories! I mean, one could make up a new category every day, and easily become "king" of one's own obscure categories...I miss the DB's. Sometimes.

It was a category before I got here. I think hipnek could well be correct, though; it may have been originated by the KingOfRandomCrap. :)Kat .

Used to be some good Q&A there. " "What the crap? Is this the longest Discussion board in the history of askville?

" "What ever happened to the "Random Crap" Category"" "Does anyone else have the personal opinion that the category bot is a bunch of random crap? " "Can't "they" give us back "Random Crap" as a category? It's like Askville tradition .

"our"tradition.

When we ask questions on Askville, we don't assign them to a particular category...

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
