All the programs in cs3 have been streamlined to work well with each other. I am a semi professional graphic designer. I have used Adobe Creative Suite 2 professional addition, and recently purchased Creative Suite 3.

I have noticed how much more streamlined the programs are. Every program is designed to work together, and Creative Suite 3 really shows that off more then Creative Suite 2 did. I was very happy with my purchase.

If you are on a budget, and thinking about getting CS2 because it is cheaper, then that is fine. However if you use Illustrator, I really recommend getting Illustrator cs3, or the whole bundles. Also keep in mind if you are a student Adobe offers very generous discounts on their products.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
