Is individualism contrary to becoming ego free or necessary to free society from collective ego?

Winner. Edit: Give me a break people. How the hell do you guys get to work.

Are any of you aware that most of the advances that have advanced society have come from universities that received public funding? Only after the inventions are realized is when they fall into the private sector. What about roads?

Police? Get over yourselves.

Nobody robs you at gunpoint. Just pay your taxes and keep quiet." AHAHAHAHAHAHA And if I don't pay my taxes and keep quiet about it?

Isn't that what you are advocating by extolling the virtues of the Egyptians? All they had to do was Pay their taxes and keep quiet. Your hypocrisy here is shocking.

EDIT: "Taxes have never been voluntary. However, civilized people have always understood the need for them." Actually, no they didn't "always understand the need for them".

They understand the need for SOME of them and are happy to pay those taxes. Taxes that the need is either "not understood" or outright disagreed with will always be a point of contention. See Tea Act of 1773.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
