Is it acceptable to wear a colorful wedding gown even if you technically could wear white?

Assuming you plan to marry only once.. then, wear whatever pleases you! Don't even consider what's 'acceptable' to others. If your marriage lasts, and we sure hope it does.. then, you are only doing this once.Do it YOUR way.

Ten, twenty, or more years from now, anyone who didn't consider your way as 'acceptable', will likely not even be within your circle of life anyway.. and if they are, they will have accepted it by then. Color is good. Color is great.

Traditional definitions of marriage often no longer apply to modern day marriages. People used the white dress to symbolize virginity, because premarital relationships were a no-no. Now a days, it is common to see people dating, living together, even raising children together without getting married at all.

I'd wear white (Then again I happen LOVE the idea of an old-fashioned wedding dress). But I'd also wear color if I found a dress I absolutely adored.

Shawls, wraps, colored veils, colored gloves and colorful shoes can all add color to the traditional white dress, without breaking from the traditional white completely.In the final assessment, it really comes down to this: A wedding day is a very special occasion for the bride, and the choice of wedding dress should be entirely up to her!

My wife wore a beautiful red dress at our wedding and received nothing but compliments. I was presented with a red tie that matched her dress (I had no idea what the color of her dress was so it was a surprise) about 20 minutes before the ceremony. I think the "white" tradition is a thing of the past and I don't believe judgement is passed on the bride in this day in age if she doesn't wear white.

We both still get compliments on the fun and unique way we choose to break certain traditions but keep the family traditions that were truly important to us. Also important to note is that we were married at a very prestigious country club so you can still have a very classy wedding and not wear white. Hope that helps!

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
