Is it necessary to get the Superpowers when using askville? I know you can gain points with one of them, but you can?

I know you can gain points with one of them, but you can also loose points too. Plus there is no value that I can see in them. Askville hasn't opened the questville yet and there is no indication it is coming any time soon that I know about.

So why do we have them? Can a person just ask an answer questions w/o dealing with the super powers? Please explain.

I have read about the powers and I am still not comfortable taking a risk in using them. Need to know more I guess and hopefully in a way that is easy to understand. Asked by Lollipop_the_Bunny 53 months ago Similar questions: Superpowers askville gain points Amazon > Askville.

Nope As a self-professed lover of the coin multiplier, I’d have to say that superpowers are not at all necessary. Just glancing at the weekly leader list, I'm only about 200 coins ahead of the person behind me, and they haven't purchased any superpowers. On the all-time list, I'm ahead of them by 2000 coins, but they have answered 1500 questions compared to my 1300 - and I've spent 2200 coins getting the levels 1 and 2 coin multipliers.

Superpowers are purely an option. The risk of using them in terms of coin loss applies only to the Coin Multiplier, and really, it is very low. Unless you're someone that routinely fires off answers that don't really answer the questions and as a result, gets weak/awful answers.

But even then, the loss of coins isn't that much. My last weak answer cost me 8 coins and I have Level 4 in that topic. However, if I get Best Answer on a level 4-topicked question (that also has a topic assigned by the asker that I have level 2 in), I get 72 coins.

If you are going to answer 5-10 questions a day, you can find value in the coin multiplier. In terms of the coins you could earn, it would be like you answered 10-20. Obviously, the more questions you answer (and that you can get completed in the 30 or 60 minutes you have, depending on the level of the superpower), the more benefit you'll have.

Spending 2000 coins on the level 2 multiplier can be a big chunk, and you'll need to take some time using the power to recover what you've lost. As you increase your topic levels, this can go pretty quickly: The Voting Authority is good if you like the discussion sections here. Basically, it lets you vote on a question (and therefore see the answers) of a question you did not answer.

You are then forced to post on the Discussion board for that question how you voted, as well as a brief explanation of why you voted as you did. This can be a great way to stimulate discussion. Another practical use for the VASP is making sure a question gets enough votes so a default Okay isn't awarded.

This is no real risk to using the Voting Authority, unless you count potential flame wars started on the discussion boards :) But, if you don't want to get any superpowers, that's perfectly fine. Look at the public profile of EddieNygma, the all-time coin leader. Notice anything?

No superpowers purchased.

Superpowers Superpowers in Askville are just an option. The value of them is different to different people, depending on whom you ask. I’m sure we have them to add a bit more interest to the "game", and to help people achieve a few extra coins.

I’m assuming you are only referring to the Coin Multiplier superpower, as that’s the only one that you can earn extra with--the Voting Authority one does not reward you with any coins. Many have complained that the short time that you can use them on only selected answers is hard. One Askviller that I am aware of seems to have worked out the system, however--Alecto67--he is using them very effectively.

Many others have commented that they find them hard to use and confusing. The Superpowers don’t really, at least at this point, have anything to do with Questville. They use up coins in the purchase of them, if that’s what you mean, that you might be able to use in Q’ville in the future, or so they tell us.

I do not own any superpowers, and it hasn’t effected me at all. I do think it’s possible to do well just asking and answering without the superpowers. If you do purchase them, I wouldn’t worry too much about losing coins with them unless you are already getting dinged for bad answers.

If you provide good answers, you should be fine, most of the time. "Warning - if you get a negative vote on an answer you will lose even more quest coins with this superpower on, so make sure you provide high quality answers. " You can only use the superpowers on the questions in which you have leveled up in, not every question.

I’ve read some recommend that you have several topics in Level 2, for instance, before you purchase the superpower, to make it worth your investment. To use it, you must activate the Superpower each time, and if you have the Level 1 version of the superpower, for example, you go to questions with topics where you have reached Level 1. You only have a set time to use it each day.It sounds like you already have, but for lots more info to help you make the best decision for you, you can read the FAQ.

Superpowers shouldn’t be anything to really worry or stress over. Have fun here, and you will do fine! *Poppet*'s Recommendations Superwoman Amazon List Price: $32.49 Used from: $37.47 .

No, you don't have to use them. Check out the FAQs for more details. The link to the Superpowers is: askville.amazon.com/askville/superpowerf... .

Before you make a decision, please read and reread them carefully. As you know, there come in two flavors. The voting authority superpower or VAS allows you to vote on questions after they've closed, even though you've answered the.

The coin earning multiplier superpower or CEMS will let you earn more points on answering questions in your level. One I hit level one, I just about immediately bought a CEMS. I did this without checking the fine print, so I was disappointed with the result.

You only get to use it once a day for thirty minutes. Even if you learn how to manipulate the game so that prepare your answers first and then answer, you won't be able to answer many questions in thirty minutes. So you will have to answer lots of questions more just to recover your investment.

When I hit level two, I did nothing and asked a bunch of questions in this topic. The best advice that I received was to wait until you've got a bunch of level two topics before even thinking of buying the CEMS for level two. Since I have no interest in what the VAS let you do, I've never even considered them as an option.

The second reall good bit of advice that I've received her on Askville is to wait until the blog tells us about big changes that are supposed to be coming down the pike. Those changes may affect your strategy. Finally, if Questville will allow us to convert our coins into something with value on Amazon, hoarding them might be the best strategy.

We won't know until Questville is announced. Some bottom line, don't jump into anything. If you decide to go for a CEMS, make sure that you've got enough topics in your level to justify the investment.

You always ask so many questions in one ;) That’s not a dig, I like it. Is it necessary to get the Superpowers when using askville? No, not at all.

You don’t need any of them, though I like the voting authority. I have both of the two availble. As you said, you don’t get squat back for using the VASP.

I’ve spent 600 of those useless little virtual gold pieces on them and I’d buy more voting powers if they were available. Yes, you can lose coins for using the coin multiplier, but look at KingofRandomCrap’s and 67alecto’s coins totals every week. They’re huge!

The key is to add a bunch of questions in the appropriate topic to your watchlist, then compose the answers on Word or a notepad. At THAT point you activate the coin multiplier and run to paste all of the answers to the questions. The coin multipliers have time limits.30 minutes for the L1 and one hour for the L2.

Virtually everything else is explained here. askville.amazon.com/askville/superpowerf... Can a person just ask an answer questions w/o dealing with the super powers? Heck yeah!

Lots of us here don’t use any of them. I don’t use the coin multiplier, but I’m levelled pretty high in my favorite topics. Sources: Askville .

It's not necessary at all. Just use them or not, whatever pleases you. Plenty of people here don't use them at all..

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
