Is it okay to feed an older male brown tabby mix with a half broken tooth wet food mixed in with dry food?

He is about 8 years old. Its kind of a long story on how we rescued him so i'll make it short. We think he may have been abandoned or something, because he still had a collar and tags.

He's been to the vet, got his shots, felv test, checkup and everything was fine. He has one tooth thats half broken, it was like that when he was rescued. It doesn't affect anything other than him having a harder time chewing dry food.

You can feed him wet food or its easier to just wet his dry food down with water --- much less expensive as well --- dogs and cats teeth don't hurt them the way it would hurt us if we had a broken tooth --- I would also encourage you to try a different food --- blue buffalo is not the premium diet everybody says it is and I have seen health problems with the diet .

It would be better IMO to feed Hills Science diet dry food, soaked in warm water until its soft. My mom had a cat that must have been at least 18 years old, had to have most of her teeth pulled, so mom just fed soggy Science Diet and that cat thrived on it.

Actually the same thing happened with my old grey tabby. He wouldn't eat the dry food at all. He had lost so much weight.

I started feeding him wet food mixed with water so it was kinda like soup. That went on for about four months until his mouth was finally healed. Now he can chow down on dry food just like he used to, altho he eats it slowly.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
