Is it worth reading the Song of Ice and Fire books after already watching A Game of Thrones?

I prefer the books. There are a few changes that the TV show has done that I thought were better than the books, but not many. Other changes I could live with, but a few, I feel, does a disservice to the source material.

I do understand that in an adaptation, plotlines need to be simplified, minor characters dropped, and so forth, but some of the things so far in Season 2 has me scratching my head. The scene with Theon and Yara (Asha) was MUCH better in the book! But the scene in Season 1, where Tyrion confessed his crimes in the Eyrie, was better on screen.

The big shocker in Season 1 was done perfectly.

I prefer the books, however the mini-series does do them justice. :) I just like the books better because it's more descriptive and you get the opportunity to imagine all its contents for yourself. Not too mention that there's some things left out or changed in the mini-series that I liked in the books.

Little things, no big deal.. But I still liked them.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
