Yes, the Olympic Event rider, Karen Lende O'Connor (1958 - ), is still alive. Her famous and beloved pony, Theodore (Teddy) O'Connor, died in 2008 after qualifying for the Olympics in Beijing According to the news, Teddy was humanely euthanized after a barn accident severed a tendon in his hind leg.
