Is reading fanfictions the same as reading published books?

First of all, study correct grammar and punctuation. It's also worthwhile to study plot structure and other aspects of creative writing. Read as many books as you can in the genre in which you intend to write, in order to avoid perpetrating cliches.

Read a lot of books in other genres, in order to promote inspiration and originality. Above all, write a lot, both in your chosen genre and outside of it; experiment with synthesising other genres with your target genre, e.g., if you are writing horror, you could try combining horror with science fiction, with romance, with action-adventure, etc.

Practice. Read works of others in your particular genre, to develop styles (but not steal them), then practice some more.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
