Yes There is, I think the Panasonics are the easiest to use, but... Keep your eyes open or jump on Panasonic’s website to find out when they are shipping. This time of year is when a lot of the manufacturers are bringing out new models, so you can usually find a good deal on last years model or find out what your gaining out of the new ones. I know all of the new Panasonic DVD Recorders have HD Tuners built in which last years do not.

But as far of ease of use, hands down, I would recommend a Panasonic DVD Recorder/VHS Combo. Now also keep in mind if you already have a VCR you can get a stand alone dvd recorder for a lot cheaper and just hook your VHS up to it. Here is the one we have... We have a Panasonic DMR-EH75VS DVD Recorder / VCR Combo with 80GB Hard Drive You can also read about it at the Panasonic site. We love it because it not only allows you to copy from VHS to DVD, you can copy the VHS to it's internal Hard Drive (Say let the tape run overnight), then you can use the editing features, and remove any sections you don't want (say commercials, or sections at the beginning and end of your recordings), then once you have it all ready, you can burn it to a DVD and it has a auto-finalize feature (so the DVD will play back on other players). It looks like Amazon isn't selling it anymore (it should be priced at around $500), or maybe a new model is coming out.

Last October we purchased one through Amazon for $430. I suggest looking for one locally or calling Panasonic. Circuit City is offering it here... If you can't find one, I would highly suggest looking for a DVD recorder with hard drive and VCR features.
