I was thinking of buying a DVD recorder to replace by VHS recorder. However, I'm not sure if there is any advantage to the DVD recorder, unless it records at a higher quality. Does the DVD recorder have disadvantages?

Price is continuing to drop so it would be a cost advantage to repair of VHS recorder Disadvantages: Spending money on new electronic device if you already have something that works and is meeting your needs....You could continue to wait it out and hope for more price reduction.
