Is there anyway to get the paperback books I own onto my kindle? selling them to amazon by any chance?

It should be possible. The point is, the intillectual property has already been purchased by buying the physical book. I would offer the ipod as a more apt analogy.

Under the "Fair Use" act, if you have already purchased a cd, you are legally allowed to convert through itunes the songs to digital format for use on the ipod. Now, maybe a physical book does not have an associated Kindle version, but if it is available, why can't Amazon charge a nominal "conversion" fee? .

No. If you want a book on your Kindle, you have to purchase it and download it to your Kindle. There is no way to transfer paper books into Kindle format at this time, and I wouldn't expect to see that happen anytime soon.Sorry.

There's no way to do that on any ebook reader, as far as I know. I'm not sure why you think that should be an option, anyway, but no one has it, so your expectations might be a bit unrealistic. Kat .

There is a program that helps you transfer e-books you already own onto your Kindle, its called Calibre. It is a database for your e-books that keeps them organized and in one place. It's free.

But you would have to find some way to get the e-books first. It will sync with your Kindle from your computer.

I don't see how thats an unrealistic expectation. You own the book already and you paid for it you should be able to enter the ISBN from the book and have amazon give a kindle version. I think that would make perfect sense and I hope they think of that soon.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
