I'm a Christian who celebrates the birth of Christ every day when I wake up and thank God for what He did, in Jesus, to save a sinner such as me. We don't know the date of our Lord's birth, only that all the heavenly hosts rejoiced and sang songs of praise to God the Father. If the birth of Jesus is cause for heavenly celebration, we too should also celebrate that momentous event when the Word of God gave up the glory he shared in heaven alongside the Father and the Holy Spirit, and humbled himself to take on human form.
Yes, it was the death and subsequent resurrection of Christ Jesus that atoned for our sins and that is why Christians remember His sacrifice every time they come to the Lord's table to partake of the bread and the wine. From what I've learned about Jehovah's Witnesses, they say Christmas is pagan and do not celebrate it. Personally, I don't think it matters on which day Jesus was born, but it does matter that people who take on the name of Christian act in a Christ-like manner and witness to Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
JWs are "extra scriptura", making policy on what *isn't* in the Bible. They say they don't celebrate the birth of Christ because the Bible doesn't say we should. Funny how they have no problem being on the internet; the Bible doesn't approve of that either.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
