Jehovah's Witnesses, Christians, others, do you think the Holy Spirit is a Person from reading the Bible?

This Watchtower quote instantly betrays the scripture concerning the efficacy of the Blood of Christ and the cross (stake?) I do love the passion by many to show ones faith by their works....ie: Works based Salvation. Both Jehovah Witnesses (see Bar anerges) and some in Christendom say the same thing. "no works, you are not saved........and even if you were, you lose it on a whim.

However you would have to be both dumb as a rock and just as hard to not see Ephesians 2:8-9 &10 that shows what salvation is all about. Just like a tree, there are the roots of salvation (verse 8-9), and then the tree bears fruit (verse 10) when planted in the good soil of belief into Jesus Christ, Son of God and very God in the flesh . It's not complicated folks.

To get all hyped up about faith, and then go of on a rant misusing the teaching on works takes a bit of arrogance or ignorance (take your pick) and demeans the completeness of Christ's work on the Cross . Call it a stake if you wish, however if you cant see & believe Christ paid our sin debt in full, then maybe you should discover what "belief into Christ actually means" I plant fruit trees, they grow, bear fruit......how simple is that?! Ergo: Eph 2:8-10 is true.

G'day.

Jw have to demean or even disallow anyone (even their 144,000 anointed) from any sort of certain saving by God. Since most of the 7million plus jw cannot even read the greek scriptures (NT) as a personal message to them, as they believe that Jesus and the apostles words apply only to the 'spirit anointed' 144,000 or revelation. Even the jw 'anointed' do not lay claim to the saving power of belief in Jesus as sufficient to approval by Jehovah.

ALL jw must perform specified works ie: door to door ministry (required), meeting attendance, book study, Watchtower study, supporting the organization like Kingdom Hall cleaning, conventions, assemblies, conducting home bible (book) studies. Unless the jw keeps up with all these 'works' they feel that they have let down their faith, not as strong as they could be, often depression and severe anxiety develops from any lack of any of the above works. A feeling of unworthiness and letting Jehovah God himself down.

No where in the bible can they find support for such thinking, yet the leadership has inculcated them to view these 'works' as actual worship of God. Most jw never read Christ's and the apostles message in context, so they never will understand how a simple belief can actually inspire, motivate and insure that the individual who truly believes will in fact produce the 'fruits' or works befitting such beliefs. All of which stems from recognition of what being saved (in the true christian form) really means.

Jw know little or nothing about living the true christian life as Jesus outlined in his Sermon on the Mount, they make a stab it by being very busy in the so-called work, but miss the quiet serenity of Jesus promised salvation through believing.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
