I don't know the book but if you have defined religion as a social structure based on faith, you can test the religion on how well it follows it basic tenants. The same way you can judge a company on how well it follows its mission statement. So a good religion is good, a religion that does not follow its own rules is not really a religion any more than a car does not go can be considered a car.
Then you need to look at the tenants of the taliban to see if taking over countries as they did in the book really reflect their faith principals.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
