Lask week we had warnings from US intelligence agencies warning of imminent attacks by Al Quaeda?

I often wonder what it is that these terrorist warnings accomplish. Since they are so vague, what exactly is the general public supposed to do? This is part of the reason why it is so easy to believe that these terrorist warnings are just a political tactic to keep us distracted and in fear.As you say, the normal suspects will be implicated should any attack occur.

Whether or not they are actually involved is anyone's guess.

You can distract the crowd; change the subject of discussion while instilling fear and then, you have a good reason to send military and police out on the street to restore order/ crush the demonstrations. All this under the pretense that terrorists might attack.It is a good way indeed to get people that protest against the government off the streets or even jailed. I think it doesn;t have anything to do with Iran.

It has to do with the demonstrations and riots on the streets. The terrorist scare is a facade.

It has nothing to do with years of aggressive foreign policy or invading a country because a leader who used to kiss your ass no longer liked the taste of it. The US has just signed up to supply the largest weapons deal in the world, over £32 billion dollars of death machines to....Saudi Arabia - the very same country that supplied the 9/11 killers to the US (possibly the oddest Trade deal ever?).

Saudi Arabia has been in bed with the US for a long time swapping arms in return for sole (or main) contractor to supply Oil to the US (and when the Saudi's got a bit pissy a few years ago well we just invaded Iraq and stole their black gold). It's a cosy arrangement and the Bush family have slept with the 'no democracy here state' since the late 1950's. This sycophantic alliance tends to put the neighbouring Arab States on their guard as they neither trust the Saudis or the US.

And given that Iran's current President has an anti US imperialism view what better way to offer a veiled threat to your country by arming your neighbour? And little Britain will of course continue its role as the creep who is prepared to be ridden like a lame cow by a psychopathic bull as long as there's a crumb of pie left for it.It won't stop at Iran or North Korea it'll stop when the US regains economic control of countries that they can benefit from. Which of course means that another 9/11 will happen and the fear factor can be reintroduced just before an Election.

None of this will be our fault the blame lies with those countries who had the audacity to react against military aggression. Of course we could always blame Obama as he seems to be the get out of jail card for all the neocons who have long since wiped the blood of their Middle East exploits from their hands. I mean can a man who wasn't president during three middle east wars be responsible for them?

Has Obama got special 'kill by proxy' tricks? Small details do tend get lost when the right wing want to put a shine on their arrogance and a medal on their ignorance.

I certainly hope none of those dreaded things happens. Yes, sources as far as Japan has warned about this. My observation suggest that it is not typical for Iran and Al Qaeda to join forces.

Both of them do not like each other. The Sunni based Al Qaeda and the Shiite based Hamas are not good bedfellows. Though cooperation between them is rare, we should always be on guard if they decide to cooperate.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
