To pledge some money, vote this question "interesting" and leave the amount you wish to donate (in Mahalo Dollars! ) as the tip. At the end of the day today, @fallen_angel21 will vote my response "Best Answer," and then Mahalo will take the total from this thread and donate it to the Red Cross on behalf of the victims of the Haiti Earthquake.
Thanks, everybody.
Helping to others is best thing that human can do. I am a beginer of mahalo but if we can donate something that I earn by using my computer hobby activity is a great pleasure to me so we must donate MS $ to victims in Haiti to give them a help as I can at least a one food packet if I can give them from my donation tis a great pleasure to me.
I had to donate. After seeing Haiti Earthquake Pictures| These pictures I almost cried. I stopped all other page management duties, and focused on collecting these pictures and collecting news.
Totally devastating.
What a horrendous ordeal for these people. I watched the films from the moment they started coming in. I am grateful to be a part of a community that cares about others.
I feel blessed being a part of it. I am sending a prayer for healing on my heart along with my donation. After surviving hurricane Katrina, my children and I feel like we can relate to these poor souls.
The sufferings of the haitians are obvious but the other suffering will be friends and families who will not know what happened to their loved ones for a long time. Some of them will not know for months what became of their loved ones. God Bless all of the victims of this disaster.
Great going! Thanks, fallen angel, lon, and everyone who has tipped! Lon, it looks like @jillbeth is not presently online, but over on my question (http://www.mahalo.com/answers/mahalo-answers-community/re-the-haiti-earthquake-is-there-a-place-for-the-mahalo-and-condundrumland-community-to-help-in-the-humanitarian-response-if-so-how ), she offered to donate her tips if that answer is selected.
If you let me know that you'll include that $2.16 in the donation, I'll select her answer and she can send it to you (to donate to the IRC). In the meantime, everyone, I would still like to know if anyone has some creative ways for Mahalo to utilize our unique strengths (community, answers, buzz team, search engine,? ) to respond to this and/or future disasters/crises/etc.Please respond here, on the link in the preceding paragraph, or I can start a new question.
Even before this recent natural disaster Haiti was in trouble. The country of Haiti has had more than their share of problems. I'm glad we are putting together this little care package to give to this impoverished nation and the victims of this unfortunate earthquake. It will be years before Haiti returns to anything close to normal and my prayers will be with those who survived and those who have lost loved ones.
With tragedy will come opportunity for greatness. Thank you everyone for being a part of this and giving some of your hard earned cash. :).
My heart just breaks. The majority of Haitians have it hard enough with just day to day struggles. I am no stranger to living in earthquake territory, and I must say after I saw the pictures and read the articles... I cried.
Thank you Lon and Angel for doing this and forwarding the money to Red Cross!
This is a great idea for the Mahalo community to join together and help the people of Haiti who desperately need help after all the destruction caused by this earthquake. When something like this happens, no one it to blame. It is just part of mother nature.
We are all part of the big picture here on earth and we need to work together in times like these to help those who need it most.
I tried to donate more money, but for some reason it put down for .5 cents. Is there a way to fix this?
I am happy to donate also check out the following for advice and pointers for other effective ways to help: pndblog.typepad.com/pndblog/disaster_rel... hearttoheart.org/PDF/AppGiving.pdf.
Thanks for putting forward a great way to help the victims. I am really happy on donating a small amount of M$6 which I think is much negligible compared with the others. :) However, I just saw the meaning of what a Community is by looking at the amount of M$ that have been donated.
I remember a small nursery rhyme which my grandma used to tell me. "Little drops of water, Little grains of sand, Make the mighty ocean And the pleasant land. " So come on everybody ... even a small donation would be URL1 matter what, the though for helping is what is needed.
I would have bid more but my wife and I just donated what we could though Doctors Without Borders. I found something you may like for additional donations. thehungersite.com/clickToGive/home.faces... They are working in Haiti and sponsors are donating for this, you can click daily for a small donation that won't cost you a penny.
This was a excellent idea fallen_angel21 I'm so proud of every single on of you guys who donated. They should have f-16 boom the entire island letting the haitian people HELP IS ON THE WAY!
I really like that so many folks are kicking in. Especially those who didn't have much in their Mahalo accounts kicking in all of it. Folks here are great.
I know now that Mahalo community are not only community of members who are intelligent but also full of compassion. I'm glad I am a member of this site because this gives me the opportunity to reach out and help albeit in my own small way.
Hold on a bit. The Haitians got themselves into this mess. Our governments are spending big bucks to help them out anyway.
Why should we be burdened by additional private requests?
Awesome... although it wasn't much, I gave all that I had ($1.52). Thanks.
I hope I'm not too late.... I saw what happened on TV, but did a better research today on the Internet. All I can say is that I never seen something like that in my life.... Words are not enough to explain what I'm feeling... Vlad.
Thanks Mahalo. This is a great and easy way to donate to the people of Haiti.
Brilliant and truly thoughtful. I'm happy to donate! Great idea @fallen_angel21.
You're an inspiration!

You can leave an optional "tip" with Mahalo's virtual currency, Mahalo Dollars. If you are asking a difficult question that might require some research, or if you'd like a wide variety of feedback, a higher tip often leads to more answers to your question.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
