The Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe: The story revolves around a Wall Street Stock Broker aka "Master of the Universe" according to Wolfe. He drives a sporty new car, has a girlfriend who wears designer clothes and glories in her ability to make others envious. One day he misses his turn out of Manhattan and winds up in the middle of the Bronx.

While speeding around trying to exit the Bronx, he hits and kills a young black boy. Politics and Police strategies multipy by the day. A Man In Full by Tom Wolfe.It's Georgia and "good ole boy" country in this story.

Big spender developer "Charlie" owes the bank lots of money and he isn't paying his bills. Bank officers aren't happy especially when he leaves their office in his private jet. Georgia society matrons, trophy wives, and a poor guy who works in a freezer 8 hours a day for one of Charlie's companies complete this very good book.

I Am Charlotte Simmons: It's about a naive young backwoods girl who accepts a scholarship to a fancy college and must navigate co-ed bathrooms and dorms, frat parties and hobnobbing with the elites. Another good one by Tom Wolfe!
