Pacquiao is favored to win, but Cotto may pull an upset by KO. -quote- "The odds for the widely-anticipated biggest fight of the year continue to fluctuate heavily as UK bookmaker BetFred has listed Manny Pacquiao at 1/2 to win by any means in his battle against Miguel Cotto. The Puerto Rican fighter is listed at 13/8- a reduction in price which means that he is seeing substantial support for bettors around the world.
This is an interesting turn of events and could factor into the equations heavily as we get closer to the fight. The ultimate result of the bout is favoured to be a Pacquiao victory by KO, TKO or DQ. This result carries a 5/4 price with a Pacquiao win by decision or technical decision listed at a 7/2 margin.
You can back Cotto for the win by KO, TKO or DQ at 9/4 while a victory for him by decision is available at 6/1. " -end of quote.
Hmm... I think it will be a tough fight. Pacquiao moves quicker than Cotto. But since Cotto is the champion on this weight division, this gives him an advantage.
If Cotto will throw in heavy punches right away, this could stop Pacquiao. But if he let Pacquiao beats him first or he lets his opponent move first, I think it will be difficult for Cotto to win. I wanted Pacquiao to win of course.
If he losses this time, it will be a big hit on his boxing career. Plus I'm dying to see a Pacquiao-Mayweather fight! LoL If he'll win against Cotto, there's a big chance that he'll be matched to Mayweather soon.
Pacquiao is pure power and Cotto is pure hunger - Cotto is hungry for title and attention and he got nothing to lose. Pacquiao on the other hand has the whole world to lose, figuratively of course. If pacquiao will lose, this won't be the end, and if Cotto will win, this will be a big START!
I myself can wait to watch pacquiao vs cotto. I have bookmarked all the sites that will provide live streaming or at least instructions on how to watch pacquiao vs cotto online. Here's a few of them: vsmannypacquiao.blogspot.com/ blogpipiatbingi.com/manny-pacquiao-vs-co... vsmannypacquiao.blogspot.com/2009/11/cotto-vs-pacquiao-video-cotto-v.html.
Pacquiao. First off he is a southpaw and is blazing fast and has been training hard for the fight. I know there has been problems with him training in the Philipines and there has been some trouble with his coaching staff, but he is pound for pound one of the greatest boxers ever.
I also believe that Cotto's loss to Antonio Margarito, even with rumors he was cheating has disrupted the powerful puerto rican's confidence.
Manny Pacquiao vs. Miguel Cotto, billed as Firepower, was a boxing match for the WBO welterweight championship. The bout was held on November 14, 2009, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, in Las Vegas, Nevada, United States. Pacquiao won the fight via technical knockout in the twelfth round.
The fight was sanctioned as a world title fight in the welterweight division, where the weight limit is 147 pounds, however Cotto's camp agreed to fight at a catchweight of 145 pounds to accommodate Pacquiao's smaller physique. Cotto's camp also conceded the larger share of the purse to Pacquiao, who received a 65% share of pay-per-view buys, compared to Cotto's 35% share. In the opening round both fighters were tentative, although Cotto appeared to have the edge, as he connected with several solid jabs that arguably won him the round.
2 However, from the second round onwards Pacquiao picked up the pace, as he knocked Cotto down in round three with a right hook, and then again in round four with a left uppercut. 2 In round five Cotto mounted a brief comeback and arguably won the round, but thereafter Pacquiao went on to dominate the fight. 2 Cotto had some success when he managed to pin Pacquiao against the ropes, although Pacquiao later admitted that he had allowed this to happen, as he wanted to test Cotto's power.
After a one-sided ninth round in favor of Pacquiao, wherein Cotto received significant punishment, many people thought that Cotto's corner should have stopped the fight. 4 At this point, Cotto's wife even left the arena. 5 However, a bloodied up Cotto decided to continue the fight, but he could not evade Pacquiao's onslaught, prompting the referee to stop the fight fifty-five seconds into the twelfth round.
6 Pacquiao was ahead on all three judges' scorecards before the stoppage, which read 109-99, 108-99, and 108-100, all in favor of Pacquiao. Total punches: Pacquiao landed 336 out of 780 (43%), whereas Cotto landed 172 out of 597 (29%). Total jabs: Pacquiao landed 60 out of 220 (27%), whereas Cotto landed 79 out of 297 (27%).
Total power punches: Pacquiao landed 276 out of 560 (49%), whereas Cotto landed 93 out of 300(31%). With this victory, Pacquiao took the WBO World welterweight title (his seventh world championship), to become the first boxer in history to win seven world titles in seven different weight divisions. 68 Pacquiao also won the special WBC Diamond Belt.
9 After the fight, promoter Bob Arum stated: "Pacquiao is the greatest boxer I've ever seen, and I've seen them all, including Ali, Hagler and Sugar Ray Leonard."10 Meanwhile, Cotto was taken to a hospital as a precaution. The fight generated 1.25 million buys and 70 million dollars in domestic pay-per-view revenue, making it the most watched boxing event of 2009. 11 Pacquiao earned around 22 million dollars for his part in the fight, whilst Cotto earned around 12 million dollars.
11 Pacquiao–Cotto also generated a live gate of $8,847,550 from an official crowd of 15,930.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
