Maxine sums up the health care bill Let?

All my medical care is done through the V.A. Hospital. In Dec. 15, '08 I had a massive heart attack, that in medical terms means complete heart failure. I drove myself to the hospital after enduring the H.A. for 9 hrs.

Straight, as I thought I had 'gas', but then realized a small pain in my solar-plex area. "Oh, OK, this is a heart attack...duh". Well in the Emergency, the whole team did me just fine, got 4 stents put in and admitted for about a week.

But during my stay, the room I was in was ice cold, and drafty; and the bed I was in was one of those self moving/rolling beds (to ward off bed sores) with no 'off' switch...so I could not get any sleep (at one point I slept on the cold floor!) I left way to early due to this (5 days of no sleep!), as they would not get me a regular bed. Anyhow I was recuperating alright from Dec '08 till about March '09...when I was running low of the meds I was supposed to take. I called the recording for refills, and got: "This has been discontinued" ...for 2 of the medications.

OK, What do I know?...they say I don't need it. So by around the end of March '09... I became very sick. Through out April and May '09 I was at 'deaths door' with shortness of breath and swelling feet, dizziness with the slightest exertion making me exhausted.

I went to the Emergency 4 different times, at one of the visits ..the head Nurse told me my swollen feet looked better than hers and sent me home!..Twice during May I was admitted for a 3 day stay each, and recovered fine. But each time I got home...same symptoms all over again. By the 3rd time at the end of May , I, myself realized the reason I got better while in the hospital is because I got the necessary/ required meds.

When I was at home...I did not! ...What was missing was the Plavix and the Carvedilol!...And this has been a recent repeat story (just last month)...Only this time the Lisinopril was "discontinued"!...Causing me to have chest pain, but this time I went to the Emergency...and demanded they get me a refill! Told me I need to see my 'Primary Care Provider'...well, that is not an option...as she is never available without an appointment!...(Don't know why they call her my Primary Care Provider)..Well after 4 hours of them treating me with great concern and care ( because they realized their mistake happened...... again!)...I was sent home with the required refill.

Anyway, that is just a taste of what Americans can expect from "Socialized Medical Care"...And note this: Not a single one of the medical staff, Doctor or otherwise, would neither apologize or acknowledge the error in the 'discontinued medicine'....

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
