I played my first GTA game when I was about his age, and I can admit I probably shouldn't have. The grand theft auto series is one of the first games made with the intent of only being played by adults. That's kind of what the company Rock Star does.
I don't know your son, he might be extremely mature for his age, but I doubt it. The game will expose him to a level of adult themes that may warrant an NC 17 for a movie. There are some people that have said that your child will be exposed to it anyway, so you shouldn't try to resist it.
Just because it may happen, doesn't mean you should contribute. Your child will statistically speaking also try drugs at some point, so by that logic, maybe you should also pick him up an 8 ball of coke to use while he plays the game. Bottom line, if you are not ready to have your son marathon watch rated R movies for over 100 hours, he's not ready to play that game.
I will be honest. My 13 year old brother started playing GTA V. I played GTA when I was his age, ( I'm 18 now) and I saw nothing wrong with it.
It was just a game you could play and have fun with if you had friends over Etc. The aspect of Grand theft auto offering an online mode sounded amazing. You then get in a lobby and hear the most foul mouthed children and adults you could imagine.
I understand that anywhere online you have the opportunity to run into this. Yet, after he started playing it I hear him constantly cussing and talking down to people through the game and its pure obnoxious! I don't believe all of it is contributed through the game but for him it definitely was his tipping point!
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
