My cat was potty trained then one day won't poop in the box anymore, still pees in the box, why and what can I do?

I first got him and he went straight to the box no problem consecutive and everything, then 4 weeks or so later he just stopped pooping in the box. Later I got another kitty and a toilet training device to teach cats to use the toilet...he transfered (just peeing)to that just fine, and the other cat does both just fine. I don't understand why he just did that one day and how can I fix it because I get tired of my house smelling all the time and having to clean up my bathroom floor all the time (given that my bathroom floor is probably the cleanest in the house by now)?

We have a cat who did the same thing. She continued to pee in her litter box but wouldn’t poop there so I decided that maybe since she considers herself to be Royalty that maybe she wanted separate boxes for each function. We bought another litter box and filled it up and sure enough she started pooping in it.

Now she has a pee box and a poop box and she uses both of them faithfully.

1 First, rule out health issues with a vet visit. Next, it may be that he doesn't like where he is supposed to poop. Or, it could be that he is upset by something else and is telling you this by pooping in the wrong place.

Also, is your cat overweight? If he can't reach his behind to clean it, he may have an issue using the box. Best to check these things with your vet, so that you do the right thing for your fur-baby.

2 My cats also use the toilet...but toilet for poop is a difficult thing to train as they still want/need to scratch...Put a toilet cover on your toilet seat "the wrong way" so the fuzzy stuff faces the cat. Show the cat he can scratch at it. Probably you didn't flush soon enough for his tastes one day and he hasn't forgotten it ;) .

3 One of my cats will pee in the box, but not poop in it. I finally figured out he doesn't like to poop in litter. I have 2 boxes, one with litter and one without.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
