My cat will NOT hiss or growl but does attack other cats?

My cat will NOT hiss or growl but does attack other cats. I want to elaborate: I'm not trying to make him growl or hiss, this is just something I've noticed about his behavior. We bought him when he was 9 weeks.

A year later we bought another male kitten. The new kitten hissed and growled around him. My cat, Loki, would not hiss or growl or eeven put his ears back but he did attack the new kitten, bitting him and chasing him away.

They're buddies now, but earlier he exibited the same aggressive behavior to a new cat without showing and outward signs. Asked by ChelseaRose 1 month ago Similar questions: cat hiss growl attack cats Science > Animals.

Glad to hear that you are not trying to make him hiss or growl, lol! Actually, I had a cat like that once, too. He was pretty laid back, but he didn't play: if he decided he needed to be aggressive, he just attacked, and he didn't do any of the normal cat posturing first, like hissing, growling, or puffing up.

Don't know why, though. Kat .

Okay, thanks! It's not that I'm particularly concerned about it or want it to stop, it's just that it's so strange to me and I've always wondered why. He doesn't purr either but he is very vocal.

Sounds like he was just playing, I've had cats for over 25 years, and some have very strange ways of "playing" to me it looks very scary until I finally realized it was the way a few of them played. Some play VERY rough, I just make sure to keep their claws well trimmed . I have 1 cat now she was a feral cat for her first 2 years, when I got her she was 2.5 ( 6 months at the shelter) I got her along with a brother and sister of 8 weeks.

Bobby was standoffish, but once in awhile she would "try" to play with the kids, and her way of playing was growling at them, pouncing on them, giving them a few play bites and then she'd run off. The poor girl didn't know how to play, not even with toys. Now 3 years later, they all play, and Bobby finally got the hang of toys, but she still growls when she plays with the kids.

IF I feel things are getting to rough I'll break up the play, @ 10 years ago I had a make cat who would start out playing very nicely with the female, then something would snap, his eyes would go wild and he'd just start beating the crap out of the female, fur flying. I'd have to grab him up and put him in kitty jail ( my bedroom) for a time out, usually within a 1/2 hour he'd be back to his normal loving ways. They all have their own personalities, and they all have their own way of playing.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
