My daughter is a university sophomore. Her grades are excellent, with the exception to math curriculum. What to do.My daughter has excellent drive and a great attitude.
She has always had trouble in math sciences and I believe this has created a mental block where in she believes she is not intelligent enough to comprehend this curriculum. She works hard, turns in all assigned work, but this will ultimately drag her GPA down. She has had tutors and I have provided web sites to aid her.
What can she do to move forward and is there anything I can do. Asked by Wannabe 38 months ago Similar questions: daughter university sophomore grades excellent exception math curriculum Science > Math.

Try a study group Ultimately, only your daughter can solve this, although you can certainly guide her in her quest to learn. Many times, the best tutors are other students in her own class. Convince her to find a study group or just a study partner to work with.
Meet periodically to discuss what was said and compare notes, removing any confusions that may have come up. She should do her own homework, but there is no reason not to talk to her study partner(s) to ensure she understands a problem and how to solve it. She can also use the instructor as an aide.
I've never met a professor who was not willing to help an INTERESTED student who was willing to learn. It is the uninterested student who disappoints me, but I was always willing to spend time to explain things to a student of mine who wanted to learn.
2 Our daughters are probably about the same age and are similar students... Mine needs calculus to go to grad school (in Physical Therapy) - she ended up taking it twice last year. She passed the second time with a C. BTW, my daughter withdrew from her class last fall before she failed it so it wouldn't ruin her GPAI wonder if the school would let her take it at another college... Also she might want to take it in the summer when it is her only class. My daughter took physics over the summer and it seemed like they were more interested in helping the students pass.
Perhaps an online class might be easier - excelsior.edu .

3 Also, most math departments have free tutoring by grad students in math lab or math tutoring center. And, professors have office hours where she can get help. No reason to pay a tutor.
She could get together with a few classmates and schedule a homework group that meets to go over the HW together and review before tests. I agree summer school might be a good suggestion. When you only have one class and have it every day, it is easier to focus.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
