Look at the back of the cable box and see what connectors are there. Some boxes have a RF connector that broadcasts whatever channel it's on to the TV on analog channel 3 or 4. Connect your TV up to that plug and tune to channel 3 or 4 to watch cable.

If it has three RCA plugs that are usually color-coded red, white and yellow, then use these to connect your TV directly to the cable box. Or if if has a very small HDMI plug, then use this to plug into your TV.

We have the three plugs, red, white & yellow. Do I go "out" from the TV into the Cable or "out" from the "cable" into the tv. There are about 9 different slots that represent these colors on the tv.
