MY HSBC Credit Card Closed?

I have a HSBC Credit Card, An HSBC Best Buy Card, And Herberger's Card. I make my payments on time except for last month when I was out of country and thought I had everything on autopay. I received a letter saying my account was closed and I just can't believe it.

Can they do this just because I owe one payment. Even the rep said she couldn't believe they did that but at the same time there is nothing she can do? Now Herberger's is saying I owe the whole balance of $1,100 right away!

This sounds like a severe penalty. The most they should have done is make you pay a late fee (usually about $39). Evidently, they have decided you are a credit risk based on one late payment?Ridiculous.

I would call them and explain the problem. I don't know why Herberger's is demanding full payment unless their charge account is with HSBC. You must correct this so those three credit rating companies do not lower your credit rating.

This will hurt your ability to get future credit. Even people who owe thousands of dollars on credit cards can consolidate their bills with one payment. This is either a bad policy on the part of HSBC or a misunderstanding that can be cleared up especially if you've had the account for a long while and have shown timely payments.

One of my payments didn't get to Chase Manhattan because it got lost in the mail. When I got the next bill, not only did I owe a back payment, but $39 in penalty for non-payment. I called and told them it wasn't my fault that the U.S. Post Office lost my payment, to look at my record, to give me the benefit of the doubt since I've had an account with them forty years, and that did the trick.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
