Get a Helicoil from the auto parts store. It's a quick and easy fix. Once inserted they are self tapping.
Heck of allot cheaper, faster and easier than replacing the whole oil pan.
I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
