How can I get an oil drain plug off that has been rounded/stripped?

Use a vice-grip pliers & pull as you turn. Then visit your friendly neighborhood car parts store & get a replacement 'oversized' plug. The slightly oversized replacement plug will cut new threads as you install it.

It's not that uncommon of a problem, so you are far from the first...

You need to ask an informed mechanic what are the chances of re-tapping an oversize thread. It depends how much material remains. Or swap the pan for a new one.

Or one from a scrap yard. In the interim there are clever devices that will allow you to change the oil via the dipstick hole. So to could do this whilst contemplating the final solution.

See link for a UK example.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
