Newbie Tuesday - Reporting Bugs on Mahalo?

I have lived through a few versions here at Mahalo and have first hand experience with some of the bugs that follow, but some bugs can pop up out of nowhere. Here's what I do if a buggy situation arises. 1.

I know it sounds funny, but I will log out, then log back into Mahalo. Depending on how crazy the bug is, or in extreme circumstances, I will restart my computer completely and log back on to Mahalo. 2.

If that doesn't fix it, I will usually contact someone on my buddy list to see if it's happening over in their neck of the woods too. It's always good for the devs to have a perspective of where it might or might not be happening. Some bugs are only happening to a few... some are happening across the board.(if you need a Mahalo buddy, just send me a Direct Message and I'll give you a way to contact me) 3.

Next I will go to the bottom of any page and click the support.mahalo.com/forums/58755-support Report a problem and before I begin a new thread, I will first check to see if one hasn't already been created. If not, I will begin a new thread and let my Mahalo buddies know who are also having the problem so we can vote it up and get it fixed!4. When I'm describing my bug, I will try to break it down yet be as descriptive as possible.

A bad example would be "It's not loading when I click that button" A great example will include which browser you are using (Firefox, IE, Safari, etc. ) sometimes this can actually be part of the issue, or just help the devs determine the route of the problem. If things are only happening on certain pages... include the full address of that page so they can see those them too.(example: the address for this thread is mahalo.com/answers/answer/newbie-tuesday... be as descriptive as you can since these people are trying their best to help you and are not looking at what you're seeing. Just remember that the more we pool together with bugs, the faster they get resolved.

If there's anything I forgot, please let me know. Remember also to thank the devs for our daily Mahalo... Amen.

Thanks for this. I haven't noticed any bugs since I've been on the site (about 10 days maybe), but now I know what to do if something comes up. So, is there an easy way to see these types of "newbie" posts in one place?

I have questions about how to do certain things on Mahalo, but I haven't found any obvious way to learn them or find tutorials.

I have a bug going on right now (It may be the computer I am on). I usually read through all the questions and open new tabs to ones I want to answer. Well now it won't let me open any other pages in mahalo besides the one I am initially on.(I could go to the fourm but all honesty I am lazy >.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
