Non-christians celebrating Christmas?

I do not give gifts, nor do I encourage people to give me gifts, but I do enjoy singing, sharing food and conversations with friends (most of whom are Christians or at least sort of Christian) and seeing festive decorations. Christmas is a non canonical holiday, meaning it never had a Christian or religious basis, and while that doesn't make it any less meaningful for those Christians that celebrate the holiday (not all Christians do), it also does not preclude anyone's participation.

I am self-employed working from home. If there is any work in the in-tray I will do it, and if not I will do some necessary admin. If there isn't much to do, I will probably read a lot, and waste some time as ever on this forum (getting religious believers (politely) to get rational and see sense doesn't need a holiday!).

And check out all the news stories that interest me - hopefully a few ISIS thugs will get heavily beaten up. My wife works at the airport and they are open all day (a lot of people are traveling as ever), and she is due to be on the afternoon/evening shift that day, so there will be no event of any sort for us - it will be like a Sunday, really.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
