A nuclear attack is a terrible thing that should never happen. When a nuclear attack happens we don't just kill soldiers or terrorists. We kill citizens.
They don't just die from an explosion. Many get radiation poisoning and die in a slow and painful process. Also, the area is contaminated with radiation.
Many people in the United States feel it is our job to monitor and police nuclear weaponry in the world, but we are the only country ever to use a nuclear weapon...and we used two. It is completely hypocritical to tell other nations not to develop this weapons and then continue to build them ourselves, especially when we are the only ones ever to use them. We have to lead by example.
We can't just spout rhetoric and expect others to follow it without following it ourselves. Oh, and I saw Hannity(I hate him) talking about this last night and he kept saying something like "Obama says we won't respond if attacked." which is a complete lie. He isn't saying we won't respond at all, but that we won't respond with nuclear weaponry.
I am proud that he made this decision. Using nuclear weaponry is damn near close to being a war crime if it is not one. Part of the bill is that we will not develop anymore nukes as well as not using them in a retaliatory strike.
Of course I know biological and chemical weapons are terrible. I never said they weren't and I never advocated their use. You can't justify one atrocity with another atrocity.
An atrocity is still an atrocity. Also, any world leader that would actually plan a chemical or biological attack on the United States knows that they would be retaliated against with full military force by not only the United States, but many other nations as well. It isn't the fear of a nuclear attack that stops a chemical or biological attack.
Hannity consistently lies, quotes people of of context, and provides misinformation. He exaggerates more than anybody I have seen. And you think only liberals on the left resort to "name calling"?
Please, he does it all the time. Everyone does it all the time. Stop acting like one side resorts to name calling and personal attacks.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
