Okay so my probation officer put me on house arrest today again because I skipped a day of community service?

Every state is different with respect to laws for DUI and allowances for alternative sentencing. First of all, you should have known that you would be doing community service BEFORE your attorney sent you a letter because the attorney needs your approval to sign up for any deal that he/she made with the prosecutor. Secondly, if you have not received your commitment paperwork and it has been a year then you are probably in violation of any probation terms that you have.

What you need to know first is what the heck is going on with your case. Call you attorney and ask him/her. If that is not possible then search for case in the county website where you live and read the "minutes" or the "probation" report.

Most counties do not charge to look up your case and the websites are easy to navigate. For the counties that do charge I have never seen it cost more than seven (7) dollars per search. Next, check to see if there is any "alternative sentencing" in your county or parish.

Even if you are committed to community service most jurisdiction allow for a "transfer of type of sentence" What this means is that if you are supposed to do community service you might be able to go the jail where you are supposed to check in for community service and ask the clerk to transfer your commitment to an ankle bracelet or "SCRAM" device (both are electronic monitoring but there are differences). My guess is that you have a warrant for not checking in for your community service. You might have a violation of probation hearing arraignment when you try to go back to court to get "re-instated" into your community service.

The best thing to do is to visit a DUI criminal defense attorney in home state. Most DUI criminal defense attorneys do not charge for a consultation. A DUI criminal defense attorney will know what to do for you in your situation.

If you are in California, check out the DUI website below on "alternative sentencing" for DUI Good Luck.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
