This isn't romantic in the traditional sense but to be it was the greatest gesture ever.
We lived in a small logging town in CA when our first child was under 2 and there were no jobs. It was a hard time. Our washer broke and we couldn't afford to have it fixed. My husband took a min.
Wage job making donuts in a deli. S rough logging buddies made fun of him and he told them."You do what you have to do for your family. " They understand it and stopped teasing him.
That first paycheck was $118 and we got our washer fixed. The fact that my husband, a big, man's man, would do this for our family is the most romantic things ever. That showed his love for us more than flowers or fancy meals.
I have been with my partner for five and a half years or so now, He's a wonderful guy and we have lots of romantic moments, but our very first Valentines day together was probably the most romantic day of my life. I woke up on the morning, and he brought me in a cup of tea and told me to stay in bed for a little while longer. (presumably because he hadn't finished what he was doing yet.) Then when he did let me get up and go into my living room, there was a lovely home made breakfast on my coffee table, with grapefruit, cereal, boiled eggs, toast, OJ and Tea, there was a giant cuddly teddy bear holding hearts with a balloon tied to its wrist and a Huge valentines card, but most amazingly of all... he had covered my entire living room walls with little heart shaped post-it notes with messeges written on them, some were famous quotes, others were specific things to us, and some just said 'I Love You!
' It was so special! And the rest of the day he's organised a day out and a picnic for us and then a nice meal in a restauraunt which was lovely, but I'll never forget waking up to all those post-its allover my living room walls!
When I was 7 months pregnant, my husband was mopping the floor when his friend called him on the phone. I could only hear my husbands side of the conversation and it went like this.
Can I call you back, I'm mopping the floor.
No you idiot! I'm not a sissy! My wife isn't going to mop the floor, she's seven months pregnant!
He's done a lot of awesome things, but that made me realize the difference between a kid (his 40 year old friend) and a REAL man! Plus, I love a dude who will mop my floor!
My fiancée recently went out of town, for sickness in his family. He was going to be in Ohio for about a month. The most romantic thing he did for me was hook up Skype on my compute and buy me a web cam, before he left.
That way we could still connect with each other by sight instead of just electronically.
He was one time on a trip to India and he was gone 3 weeks, there was no Skype no web cam, it was a horrible 3 weeks for me, their time is opposite our time so we couldn't even talk much. He was up I was asleep and vice versa. So for me what he did this trip was totally romantic.
Sounds like to me you got a good guy as well. Good luck.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
