I don't see religion preventing ANY crime. It does justify a lot of social inequities, and often is used as the reason for wars. It's used as a way to control the masses, and to enrich it's leaders.
Along the way they always find access to our young for their sexual pleasure. The "ends do NOT justify the means.
You've got your religions mixed up. Christianity doesn't CONTROL...ISLAM does. Those so called Christians who 'control' their congregations are anything BUT Christian (e.g. WESTBORO BAPTIST CHURCH...look them up, they are neither a CHURCH nor are they BAPTIST).
I've been a Christian since 1964 and I've never been controlled in my thoughts, actions, words. You really should know what you're talking about before showing your lack of knowledge of a subject.
I think you're a little off. Salem witch trials. The Spanish inquisition.
How many convicted murderers and gang members claim to be Christian? What about the Muslim terrorists? Religion justifies murder on the part of its believers. It takes away what would otherwise be a guilty conscience.
Look, you need to know something Single Gal. I am justified by grace and not by my own works. I never in my life would commit a felony or go on a killing spree even before I came to know Christ.
God has given us a conscience from day one. I have given control of my life to m not because I needed to stop mayhem from happening in my life. I gave m my life because I loved m and because He has more to offer than anything this world can give.
Because of m I am capable to love even those who don't love me, to forgive even when none said they were sorry, to not let bitterness come into my heart, to be a better person all around. I love He first loved me. I have liberty in my life and am more free than you could possibly understand.
I am not bound by hatred, like some are. I am not bound by anger and fear. It's because of Christ that I am who I am.
Praise God for He is good.
Anything can be taken to extremes, especially religion. Isn't it up to the individual to determine how far they take a religion?
Christianity doesn't control people. The laws of the land do. I'm christian but I'm not going to say that there are no christians who are crime free out there.
We are all human.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
