You can spend much less..... We just got a 52" LCD w a wall mount and 120hz refresh rate for $1199. Look around and you can find them. Great resources include Amazon.com.
I would not buy it at a brick and mortar store as you will end up paying more. Amazon has free shipping and no TAX....great savings. We bought a Samsung LCD.
Other factors to consider: LCD is good for most rooms bright or dark. Plasma is best in darker environments. LED is too new....and probably at a premium.
It depends on a huge number of factors, you may like this guide ehow.com/how_5043694_choose-plasma-lcd-l....
I don't know what to tell ya. Oh wait....YOU GOT HER TO LET YA UPGRADE?! Schweet...ya musta worked some magic on her.
HeheI have a plasma and just 3 days after the warranty went out, the thing just turned itself off and said that's it, I'm done...aint playin no more and that was all she wrote. We did get it sent to get repaired but it came back working but with a thick blue line right down the middle of the picture. Ok, um, with the money we paid for it and the money for repairs it should have been right.
My point there, get the extended warranty on this kind of item. Thankfully we got ours at the military exchange and the manager was new so he gave us a new TV...okey dokey then. Other than that, I like it.
No issues, no problems. I have heard that LCD tvs tend to burn out fast and end up with "burned in" images on their screens. That is hearsay and I can't say one way or the other.
The upside to an LCD, no glare but there is glare on a plasma since it is a glass screen. I don't know anything about an LED. As far as I know, all of them can be hung on a wall.
We have a 42" Panasonic and other than the issue with it dying out we have no complaints. We purchased the previous one last year for about $1500 and the same TV, with updated features now runs about $899. Now, those prices are based on the Army Air Force Exchange Service.
Your price might be a tad higher and of course, you will have to pay tax where as my price is without tax. The glass on the plasma is more kid friendly. LCD's tend to get scratched.
Naturally you don't want your kids being unruly but crap happens and my computer monitor does have some scratches that just miraculously happened. (You know the kids NEVER do it..phbbfft). Check out this site...it seems to have good info.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
