I believe you are right. The last communion I was to the little girls looked more like little brides. The dresses were over the top.

Many of the girls had updos. Some wore tiaras and others had rhinestone clips in their hair. You can take your daughter to your hair stylist and let the beautician have a practice day.

She can try several different updos and you can chose which you like best. She may even be able to show you pictures of updos before she starts, just to get an idea as to what you like. Here are some hairstyles I think would be perfect for a first communion.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
