Niche Website Success will show you how to take your knowledge and build a themed, content website that can generate money through affiliate marketing, Google ads and more. Get it now!
It really all depends if your blog is themed, and if you're going to stick with the blog. The immediate benefits of posting on hubpages are higher since it's a page rank 5 and will pass on some of it's google ranking power to your page whereas the blog doesn't have any yet to pass on.
If you're going to stick with the blog however, or if it's more focused on a niche related to the post then the blog is better since the new content will help increase your own PR for long term purposes. Then with it you don't have to share the ad revenue (if that's your goal).
HubPages is for informative articles and Blogger is for personal blogs. I have both and sort them out accordingly.
My blog got more views than it did on hubpages in the past. But hubpages has also made more money than the blogs through clicks. Also, hubpages will be movving to subdomains soon so I'm sure that will boost traffic.
Bottom Line- see how it goes on hubpages and you can always add it to your blog later, and refer readers to your blog :).
I usually do both, but that's because I'm a rebel (apparently). Seriously, though you won't get in trouble if you do both.
Honestly, I think it would be better if you put it on hubpages as you're likely to get more traffic to your article than your blog. Blogs are great but they require too much time advertising as hubpages does that for you. Besides you get a higher ranking through hubpages than through your blog.
I would say for better response ..go for hub pages. Here traffic will be instant if you have got some followers you will reach a wide area of people quickly as compared to blogger...!
Thankyou everyone for useful answers . After reading all your answers I have concluded that I will post most of my long posts with 1500 or more words here and short posts on my blog ..It will help me in hubpages and also helo me get some backlink and traffic to blog . Ocassionaly I will post on my blog as well .
Jon Hunt: you can't do both or Hubpages will penalize you for duplicate content.
Anyway, it all depends. There's content that's better suited to your own blog than on hubpages, and vice versa. Generally it may be easier to rank high on google with a hub than on your very own PR-0 blog, however, and hubpages does provide easy affiliate widgets.
You could always do both - with different original content of course - and compare the traffic stats.
If you post an article first on your new blogger site then you won't get credit for it. If it is a good article then people will steal it and modify it and put it somewhere else. Google is not spending enough money to spider poor sites and they spend most of their time on the big powerful ones so there is a huge advantage posting on something with higher page rank because that is where they seem to be spidering most.
Spidering costs money and so they won't be spidering a new site like crazy no matter how good it is. You will probably have to write several hundreds articles before they really start noticing you. This is a pity but it is just a fact of life.
Right now Hubpages is PR6. If you own your own website that has higher page rank than HubPages then post it on your own site and if not post it on Hubapges. As for a new blogger page.
Just make another rubbish poor quality version for blogger because even if you do something really good it won't get noticed properly for a long time (if at all) I have noticed that a lot of rubbish and poor quality material I have produced does really well on high PR sites and extremely good quality does not even get noticed on new sites. I wish you luck in whatever you are trying to do.
Interesting question. I think you have post your article in your hubpage account and it gives more Weightage rather than blog. Blog spot is also best.
If it is a post of the typical 100 words or less, then post it on the blog. You need to write quality 400 minimum word hubs with photos, video or links to make it more interesting for the reader, on Hubpages. If you do choose to write a longer hub you can link to a post in the blog and get more readers to your blog and vice versa.
I assure you that the article will show up higher on Google search if you post it on Hub Pages. I have a blog that gets about 30,000 page views a month, but my hubs with similar key words rank higher.
Occasionally you will find a post or an article that says that you should not post on a third party site like Hub Pages. I could not disagree more. I would agree that you should not post all of your content on a single site.
However Hub Pages can drive traffic to your site and raise your page rank as well.
I just noticed Stacie L's brilliant answer. There is a reason she has a Hubber rating of 96, she is completely correct. I would even say that if the post is less than 750 words, I would post it on your blog.
Longer articles do better on Hub Pages.
Well the third option is to run your own ship. Get a cheap hosting with a domain, install wordpress and there you go 100% self owned personal blog, which you can use for any purpose you want. Also 100% profit stays in your pockter =).
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
