Quit my job with good reason and now my ex-employer is telling edd I still work there?

That might be considered a real, substantial, and compelling reason which would cause a reasonable person to terminate employment. However, your first obligation is to try to rectify the problem with your employer. Have the unsafe conditions been reported to the employer?

As kj566 suggests, has Cal/OSHA been notified? Until you take steps to preserve the employment relationship employment conditions are not good cause for leaving employment. http://www.edd.ca.gov/uibdg/Voluntary_Qu...

Looking at your replies to the answers given, it appears that you are determined to file for UI benefits, so go ahead and file BUT know a few things - it will take at least one month or more before your case is brought before a Judge that handles UI cases / you need to bring PROOF of what you are claiming for the Judge to see / the employer will also bring proof to deny what you claim / even if you are approved for UI benefits - which could take months for the case to be approved - you will ONLY receive benefits for a total of 26 weeks, and no extensions after that + the maximum amount you can receive is $ 450, and most people receive less than that..................the best thing for you to do is look for work elsewhere, and forget about filing for UI benefits.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
