Recent Computer Crashes: BSoD's and general freezing?

Yes it really looks like a dying hard drive to me. It won't take long before it completely conks out and won't be recognized by the BIOS. I suggest that you immediately salvage your data and save them to a flash drive or external hard drive.

If you don't have either of the two, you can email your data to yourself. Here's how: 1. Use a computer that has admin privileges and download the Hiren's BootCD from this site: http://www.hirensbootcd.org/download Here's the direct link to the compressed file: http://www.hirensbootcd.org/files/Hirens... 2.

Extract the contents of the compressed file to a temporary folder. 3. Run the BurnToCD command to create the bootable CD.

4. Set your computer computer's BIOS to boot from the disc and run the Mini Windows XP. That will allow you to run Windows Explorer so you can access your failing hard drive.

Hopefully you can copy them to a flash drive or external drive. You may also open the browser assuming your computer is connected to the internet using an ethernet cable. This way you can email your data to yourself so you can access them from another computer.

5. Lastly, there are some hard disk diagnostic programs in the Hiren's BootCD when you reboot from it. Use them to check your hard drive and see how bad it is.

If it seems that it can be repaired by a FULL format then you can try that. At least you have already saved your data. Hope this helped.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
