Regarding curfew, what time, and at what age would you allow your child to come home? And why?

I never had a set curfew and I turned out fine! :) I think it really depends on the age and the kid though--responsible, mature 18-year-olds who are almost in college shouldn't have a strict 9 p.m. Curfew.

On the flip side, 13-year-olds shouldn't be allowed to run around at night with no rules.

I would say it depends where he is going when and for what purpose but generally speaking I would say 9 or 10 on school nights , midnight on weekends and of course no curfew if the child is 18 or older however if he lives at home he should be required to call so you know he is ok.

Thanks again,You are so right about the relationship part...trust being the most important, next to respect for your child...I have always had a great relationship with my kids...(not without troubles) but all 3...have been really awesome....with that said, I always felt a curfew was necessary...(probably a little old fashioned) but they always knew it was open for discussion, depending what was going on...something special, etc...it was just something that encouraged them to have respect as well!

School nights 8-9pm and weekends/holidays 11pm-12am. It also depends on age and maturity. They need these boundries to establish discipline of self and trust.

Interesting question, and very variable. Things like curfews depend a lot on the relationship between parents and children, if you trust your child enough to not do anything silly, then a curfew can be quite late, but if trust is an issue it's better to keep the curfew early to make sure they are following the rules. Another big factor is gender, I know from a lot of friends, that girls when trusted by their parents will be allowed to stay out to quite early hours of the morning.

On the other hand if they are known to get up to mischief generally have an early curfew. For boys curfew can be pretty late, many parents give there sons a sense of independence by giving them longer curfews. Another major factor is the safety of the city you live in, and the location of where your kids will be.

I live in Shanghai China, when I was 16, my curfew was 12, my parents felt very safe with that because I live in City that is relatively safe, I can walk down the street at 2am and no one will bother me. But if you live in city, that's known for things happening after dark an early curfew would be better. I hope this answers your questions!

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
