It is time for America to recommend cuts to Obama and his committee.
The Committee is of course made up of people from both parties. Among their recommendations are raising the retirement age, raising the cap on income subject to the Social Security payroll tax, decreasing the amount of reimbursement to Medicare providers, decreasing Defense spending, raising the gasoline tax, revamping the income tax to make the rates lower but limit deductions. In combination they hope to seriously decrease the deficits over a period of time and make Social Security viable for a longer period of time.
The details all can be debated and worked on but the ideas they have come up with all merit discussion if people are really serious about deficit reduction and don't only use it as a campaign phrase at election time. What they do not recommend is privatizing Social Security. THAT is what liberals would have none of and I agree.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
