The problem is log3(ab)^3" Oh no it's not. That would be log3(a*b*a*b*a*b) ie log3(a^3*b^3) It's log3(ab^3) ie log3(a*b*b*b) ...which comes out as log3a + 3*log3b, as per book answer.
