Sex before marriage or marriage before sex?

Fornication is sex outside of marriage. The catch here is, you won't find marriage portrayed in the Bible the way it is performed in the modern world... not even by the Jews. Marriage to the ancient Jews was accepting one another as husband and wife then having sex... making the commitment to one another.

It didn't involve a priest, it didn't involve a piece of paper from a gov't that stated your marriage is legally recognized, etc... Now when you look up fornication in the Bible, you will see it is applied to those who worship many gods, it's also applied to harlots who take in many bed partners, etc... so the context of it is "one who sleeps around"... not just "one who has sex before they are officially recognized as married before a priest and/or gov't". A good example of this is shown when Jesus is asked about a woman who is sleeping with several men... he's asked if they would all be her husbands when she went to the afterlife. Even Jesus pointed out that they couldn't all be her husband because she wasn't committed to any single one of them.

The Bible calls sex before marriage adultery. However, the actual definition of adultery is extramarital sex, not pre-marital sex. The thing you need to consider here is not what that Bible says but rather what you think.

You're right in saying that you don't need to be married to be in love. Consider your own morals, and always play it safe if you do decide to be sexually active. Now, Von and Child of God give you Bible verses.

However, those verses don't actually talk about pre-marital sex. They talk about marriage and keeping the "marriage bed" clean, which could mean not having extra-marital sex. When it comes down to it, do what you want to do.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
