Should an 18 year old be allowed to conceal carry?

That totally depends on the 18 year old. At 18 our young boys and girls can be extended the trust of running million dollar equipment overseas and fighting in wars for their country, but often enough, they can't come home on R&R and buy their girlfriend a real drink... That being said, there must be some kind of aptitude test, both psychological and knowledge based, to govern this for them, as well as for anyone who the rest of us are trusting to know when, if, and how much force is necessary in any tense situation. I am a strong advocate of the protection of our 2nd ammendment and the rest of our constitution, I do have a concealed carry permit, and I've witnessed many people carrying weapons in populated areas that didn't have the sense to know which end is the business end... I really don't think age has all that much to do with it.

Believe it or not, I was every bit as responsible at 18 as I am at 41, and still think that there are a few intelligent, but not fear based, laws that this country could benefit from. THAT being said, please accept this relevant, albeit shameless plug, as the rest of my answer to a complicated question... check out hubpages.com/hub/Gun-Control-Is-OUR-Civil-R.

I don't think so. I believe that the age limit minimum is 21, but it may be as low as 18 somewhere, but it isn't here in Texas.

Well... we've had 18 year olds doing legal concealed carry here in Indiana for decades with absolutely no problems. And we are not the only states like this.

One can base their answer off from observable reality... or base it off from pure emotion and no facts. It will be easily obvious which posters use which style in this thread.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
