Should I buy a cheap camcorder or a compact camera with an HD video function? Which one? I have a budget of approx $300-$400?

I bought a Kodac zi6 HD camcorder for about $179.99 at Best Buy. It';s pretty good, I'm quite satisfied with it. Here's some video's I took.

I really love the Canon HD HV30 camcorder (and the HV20). If you want an inexpensive, easy to use HD video camera, these are fantastic. You would probably have to get a refurb HV20 or a used HV30 for it to fit in this price category.

Some of the reasons they are cool: * Uses cheap, dependable MiniDV media * Doesn't use the relatively demanding AVCHD format * Has some great advanced features for a pro-sumer camera, such as 24p * Good manual controls (but unfortunately, crappy manual focus controls) * Fast auto focus * HUGE community that will answer any questions you may have * Large amount of unique after-market devices (many fan created) such as special lenses, rails, controllers, lens adapters, and even focus rings. If you want a decent point and shoot instead of a video camera, I'd advise one of the Canon ELPH's with IS (stability control). If you want a great "first" SLR with awesome capabilities for a cheap price, get the dated but under-valued 10D with either a 19-35mm Tamron lens or a Canon 50mm 1.8.All of these options should be in this price range.

You could buy a camcorder with hd if you have a walmart in the place that for under $300 THAT IS A GOOD DEAL IF YOU ASK ME!

If you value video quality over size, buy a cheap camcorder. If you value size over video quality, buy one of the new compact video cameras. "HD" doesn't guarantee quality.

Good sensors do. Even cheap (but larger) 3 CCD cameras do a better job of capturing quality video than the most expensive compact HD cam's out there. Here is a good comparison chart of Panasonic's 3 CCD camcorders: panasonic.ca/English/audiovideo/camerasc... These Panasonic camcorders were recently recommended by Tyler Crowley, the Executive Producer of Mahalo Daily and various other online shows.

Here is a quick rundown of a few compact video cameras: mahalo.com/answers/camcorders/whats-the-... Hope this helps! RB http://twitter.com/AR_RobBrown.

Most of the above members have given many a choices of company everyone is good and I suggest its not the company that matters but its your work that you do matches the Gadget. Kind regards Thank you.

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
