Should parents, or other relatives allow children to go to foster care to teach their mother a lesson..?

The system to check on that is already in place, at least where we are. It just has to be used. When we started as foster parents we were given the guide book and a whole bunch of forms to keep records on.

You should have gotten them too. One of the forms we had to keep up to date was the inventory for the child. It is supposed to contain a record of everything you have bought for the child that was not "disposable".

Things like clothing appropriate for the seasons, furniture (crib, bed, high chair, change table...) and any other recreation items or personal items for the child. Things like food and diapers which are essentially "disposable" were not accounted for. I don't know about you but this is a form I have always maintained and at any given point in time a social worker could ask me where the money has gone and what was bought for the child and I can give a full accounting of it.

Even clothing items that they have grown out of are listed. Funny thing is, not one social worker has ever asked to see that record but I've still kept it up to date. I know I've even kept track of those things that I could have claimed for but never did such as mileage for doctor visits or family visits with birth family, police checks (even though I could do it myself I still take it to a neutral department and have to pay to get it done).

While things like that, while they will not solve all problems with abuses of the system, do go a long way towards holding foster parents accountable. Unfortunately though, I think the system is so desperate for foster parents and is so overburdened in administration now that it can't even maintain the system it has in place now never mind added administration or the loss of foster parents that may be abusing the system (as long as they are caring for the children properly).

I know somehow people "make money" off foster kids but frankly we spend WAY more than the payouts. The clothing vouchers are a joke if you proper dress a growing child. And yes we have the latest gaming devices...I couldn't even tell you how to turn it on.

It's the kids not mine. It's a shame more people don't do this for the love of the kids. I'm afraid there will always be "those" people gaming any system they can...ruining it for the kids & other decent foster parents.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
