Should statutory rape laws be changed?

If they were both 14 they should be treated equally. Where did this happen? To answer the other questions: 1.

There should be more standardized laws. I don't think it's right that you could go to jail for something in one state that would be perfectly legal in another state. 2.

It should be a case-by-case basis. If it's a 15 year old and a 14 year old having sex, why destroy their lives by making it an issue with the law? Deal with it as parents.

If it's a 50 year old having sex with a 14 year old then of course the state should go ahead and file. I mean, look at the Warren Jeff (sorry not positive about his name) situation. He is this nasty old man who slept with underage girls and their parents were fine with it.

That doesn't make it okay, obviously.

To a point, yes. I was 15 when I started having sex. My boyfriend at the time was 17.

We went to the same high school. In TX 17 is a legal adult when it comes to these situations. IF my parents had wanted to, they could have filed statutory rape on him and he would have been registered his whole life.

THAT is ridiculous. Granted, I was a bit young but we dated for 2 years...obviously it wasnt a rape situation. Lol Now..if they are 25 and 13, ya - sorry - thats just wrong.

Im 42 now, have 4 grown kids and still feel this way HAHAHA I get a TD for saying the same thing as the guy under me?

I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
