The clip or spring may be broken but I suggest you take it to a camera professional because they are the only one who can tell you about it! I just hope that your camera is repaired soon and you click beautiful photos and share with us!
The OM2 I just acquired has a stuck shutter button. I was excited to show my brother the camera since he still shoots with film and of course he pressed the shutter button down and now it's stuck. , but the shutter button is still stuck down.
I put new batteries in it but that doesn't help. Any ideas on what to do? Provided it is in a full working order-:)most likely the shutter can't be cooked.
Open the back cover, use finger nail to give a little press to rotate the spoke clockwise and cook the shutter. Observe carefully if it is the rotor got stuck. If the shutter is cooked, find a release cable, or a shape stick, see if that can release the shutter that way.
Best you can do is to find a local camera shop to have them check it out, mostly it is free, they will tell you what is wrong and if repairs are needed. Wrote:The OM2 I just acquired has a stuck shutter button. Of course he pressed the shutter button down and now it's stuck.

Is the shutter button stuck in the down position or up position? ) the camera and the mirror came down. Did the shutter fire properly?
Open camera back and see if the shutter curtains closed properly. If they remain open, even with a small slit, you have a jammed shutter. Did you put in fresh batteries?
Gently turn camera sideways and upside down and listen carefully for any loose parts, screws, rattling inside.
I cant really gove you an answer, but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest. A good paper is one that people get drawn into because it reaches them ln some way.As for me WW11 to me, I think of the holocaust and the effect it had on the survivors, their families and those who stood by and did nothing until it was too late.
