Single handle Kohler shower valve replacement kit used - getting cold water when handle is turned fully clockwise. Help? Wondering if something needs to be switched around - I am getting warm water when I start to turn the handle clockwise but get pure cold water with the handle turned all the way clockwise - reverse of what I would expect (and what we had before).Thanks.

Simple Simple problem. The valve is symettrical and fits in two ways, the right way and 180 degrees opposite. You usually get it in the wrong way the first time.

Turn off the water supply, unscrew the valve, and turn it around half a turn. Voila.

At the hotel where I work we simply remove the front plate, pull the O ring and stop off of the stem, turn the stem 180 degrees, reinstall O ring and stop. No need to turn off water or anything.

I cant really gove you an answer,but what I can give you is a way to a solution, that is you have to find the anglde that you relate to or peaks your interest.
